Thank you for your interest in the PT/PTA Student Scholarship Program! Established in 2024, the goal of this scholarship was to give current SPT and SPTA's a creative outlet that could not only earn them scholarship support, but also act as a way to help inform those interested in coming into our profession of Physical Therapy! CASSIG believes in empowering the students to become invested in directing the future of Physical Therapy. We are currently looking for those who are interested in helping CASSIG support students directly!

All donations will go towards the following:

  • Supporting the PT/PTA Student Scholarship Program

  • Fund students to be able to attend upcoming CPTA/APTA conference events

2025 CASSIG SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Misael Rodriguez

USC, DPT Class of 2026

Misael: This scholarship gave me the opportunity to attend the CPTA Annual Conference, where I got to meet and interact with many of my future colleagues. I had the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational sessions and hear from leaders in the field, which helped me gain new perspectives on best practices and emerging trends in physical therapy. I loved being reminded of why I’m so passionate about physical therapy and this profession, and getting to connect with everyone who shares the goal of improving people’s lives was inspiring and motivating. Beyond the sessions, connecting with fellow students and professionals highlighted the importance of collaboration and community in our work. Sharing ideas, discussing challenges, and learning from each other’s experiences reinforced my passion for physical therapy and motivated me to continue developing my skills!

Romane Vigouroux

UCSF/SFSU, DPT Class of 2026

Romane: This scholarship allowed me to attend the CPTA conference, where I experienced firsthand the power of community within our profession. I had the privilege of meeting my mentor, a pelvic health physical therapist, business owner, and advocate for policy change, which sparked an ongoing mentoring relationship. I also engaged with clinicians across specialties and connected with students from programs throughout California. The conference strengthened my passion for advocacy and collaboration, and it reminded me how impactful shared knowledge can be in shaping better outcomes for our patients.

2024 CASSIG SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT

Elaine Ngo

MSMU, DPT Class of 2026

Elaine: Hello! I am a 2nd year DPT student at MSMU. I got into PT because I found it fulfilling to be a part of a person’s journey through recovery. Eventually, I want to help the marching band community (I used to play drums and cymbals!) as I believe there is a need for PT. So far, I am interested in orthopedics and inpatient acute care, but I’m keeping an open mind! Besides being a student, I enjoy visiting different areas and trying new foods, spending time with my nieces and nephew, and running!
